Acts of Kindness Grant Win

ABQ Kindness app awards $1,000 grant to one IHS staff
Winning Staff Member, Amy Guzie
The ABQ Spark Kindness app sponsored by the Jennifer Riordan Foundation presented at Independence High in November of 2018.  Presenters gave staff an app to record and report images and messages of kindness they saw in the classroom and around the school.  The staff member who uploaded the most acts of kindness by the end of the school year wins a $1,000 grant to spend in their classroom.  The winner for this year is none other than our GRADS teacher, Amy Guzie.  She and principal, Dr. Sue Carley, will be attending an awards ceremony next week at the Albuquerque Community Foundation office along with four other winning staff from various APS schools also participating.  Taken from a statement from Dr. Carley, "Independence may be little but we are mighty and very kind!"

Congratulations Mrs. Guzie on logging all those acts of kindness!
